At the Kings Court Positions Appointed Le Party Scene Les Femmes Bonnes Military Matters Religious Affaires Crossed Blades Comings and Goings & Le Interview avec le Compte d'Avignon, Robespierre O'Rielly A Quiet Quake The low rumblings could have been quakes I am sure, but it seemed to center itself upon the good houses of money eager to lend themselves to those in need. Indeed I believe I saw one such as I was walking past. Monsieur Algernon Montgrief found need of the services offered there as he readied himself for the Tuscan front for the month. No doubt the funds came in handy as I saw him a day or so later sporting the stripes of the Captaincy of the 69th Arquebusiers as the marched off to the south. Then too do I believe, I witnessed Gregoire de Fronsac leaving the same establishment and making his way directly to purchase a ticket for the Paris Lottery. The Director of the Lottery was very pleased and thanked the man himself wishing Monsieur de Fronsac to pass the word that good fortune can come easily to any and all who participate in the Lottery. Although no winner was found this month, the Lottery grew and currently stands at 325 Crowns. Spring Expedition! The Chancellor has announced that an trade expedition will be sent to the Indies. I am sure that the houses of lending will see an increase in trade as the good gentlemen of Paris seek to add their fortunes to those going abroad. The Chancellor assures us that the expedition will take no less than four months and may take as many as six! No doubt that some of the clergy will join the expedition to help convert the heathens remaining in the Indies. I certainly hope that the Ministers of State and War took into account that a detachment of the Royal Marines will be accompanying the expedition. Arms, Finance, and Commerce March begins the time when investments are open in the area of arms, finance and commerce. Over the next three months, speculative investments may be made in any of these three areas. Returns will come back in September once the summer campaign concludes and the gratitudes can be issued where they are due. The summer army will need a good investments to show the Tuscans of what France is made. The decision of the structure of the post campaign army will be determined in June.
