Like most people in America, I watch quite a bit of television.  It is a curse.  One of the greatest tools created misused in such a fashion.  The constant display of negativism and negative images are very offensive to me.  However, there are shows that are not so bad and offer a decent level of escapism.  These are the ones I like to watch.  But, the night-time soap operas do pull me in despite my best efforts.  Discipline has never been my strong suit.  However, I only watch prime time, Lisa has it on 24 hours a day.

Every year I rate the new shows based on the information TV Guide provides.  Unofficially I have about a 80% accuracy rate in what shows will last and how long they will make it.  Too bad I don't have the credentials to get a job at a network.  It is all a matter of watching society and people and knowing what kind of crap the lowest common denominator will watch.  Thankfully there has been a move in television to more wholesome and intellectually challenging programming.  Since the masses cannot understand much of these programs, they seldom last.  These are the ones I truly enjoy.

As soon as the new TV Guide comes out I will post a link for my reviews and predictions and why.

These are the Current Shows I enjoy watching.

SOAP BOX:  Unfortunately, some of my favorite shows are unavailable because my cable carrier has decided the channels they are carried on should cost five dollars a month each.  If only one cable company can service a house, a neighborhood, a community, that is not competition.  It is a government sponsored MONOPOLY since the government decides which cable company can offer service.  WRITE your CONGRESSMAN and DEMAND free and open COMPETITION amongst cable companies.  SOON, digital IP service will be available and for a fee you will be able to get only the channels you want over the internet.  Keep the competition going.  DO NOT buy a bill of goods you do not want.  ONE HUNDRED CANNELS and I only watch TEN.  WHY am I FORCED to pay for the others?
